The VA Fundamentals course starts from basic PA / acoustic knowledge then builds to detail the concept, planning and integration of the various ‘life critical’ aspects of a design.

An engineer’s introduction to the requirements of the current version of BS5839-8:2023, detailing the requirements for the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of voice alarm systems, along with practical advice and examples.

Who Should Attend?

If you are involved in specifying, designing or installing voice alarm systems, particularly audio engineers and fire engineers but also fire service personnel, facility managers and system maintainers will gain valuable skills.

Entry Requirements:

Attendees should have some experience of installing audio or fire detection equipment or an appreciation of fire risk assessment or provision of evacuation facilities.
